How much po ang fair price ng isang teacup na chihuahua?

Im planning to buy one pero yung napag tanungan ko mukhang overpriced eh.
30k daw para sa isang 3 months old female teacup chihuahua na show potential
w/ 8 redmarks pa daw. Complete vaccines and papers.

Maybe you can inquire with reputable breeders of chihuahuas about pricing and traits so you have a basis when you look for one.

This post might be a downer... but I agree with the many articles online that clear up the term "teacup" and all other adjectives some breeders use to advertise and sell puppies.

The Chihuahua is A Chihuahua
Sponsored by The Chihuahua Club of America
Source: http://www.chihuahuaclubofamerica.com/NEW%20TRANSFER/Articles1.html

The official A.K.C. Breed Standard describes the Chihuahua as a small dog that comes in two varieties or coat types.  The difference in coat type (the Long Coat or the Smooth Coat) is the only official description used to identify a difference within this breed.  Our Standard does not categorize the Chihuahua by size.

For the purposes of showing and record keeping, the American Kennel Club includes the Chihuahua (along with 16 other breeds) in the Toy Group.  Therefore, irrespective of their weight or physical stature, ALL Chihuahuas registered with A.K.C. are considered to be a toy breed of dog.

As with all living things, there will be a size variance between individual dogs within this breed.  Look within the human family – brothers and sisters will differ in height and in weight, as well as other physical attributes.  They are described as humans, male or female, and there is seldom if ever a need to break the description down further.  The same holds true in regard to the Chihuahua; they are Chihuahuas - Long Coat/Smooth Coat, Male/Female.

Unfortunately, the additional adjectives used to describe the size differences and physical appearances are many; and have been misused for so long they now seem legitimate.  Tea-Cup, Pocket Size, Tiny Toy, Miniature or Standard – are just a few of the many tags and label that have been attached to this breed over the years. The Chihuahua Club of America is concerned that these terms may be used to entice perspective buyers into thinking that puppies described in this way are of greater monetary value. They are not; and the use of these terms is incorrect and misleading.

Occasionally, within a litter, there may be a puppy that is unusually small.  That pup is a small Chihuahua and any other breakdown in description is not correct.  To attach any of these additional labels to a particular pup is to misrepresent that animal as something that is rare or exceptional and causes a great deal of confusion among those new fanciers who are looking for a Chihuahua.

The Chihuahua Club of America does not endorse or condone the use of any of these terms and would caution the perspective puppy buyer not to be misled by them.

We recognize that many Chihuahua fanciers do want the very small puppy. While they are adorable, and can be perfectly healthy, the buyer should be cautioned as to the extra care that may be required with regard to their general health and well-being.

Additional question lang po

Totoo bang hindi pwede sa conformation show ang teacup chihuahua?

Yung likod ba ng chihuahua (teacup) ay mejo baluktot talaga? parang mejo naka ark sya
pagdating sa bandang tiyan?

Chihuahuas who enter conformation shows try to come as close to the breed standard as possible, and the breed standards do not make any mention of "teacups".

The term "teacup" usually represent the really small chis, who are usually the runts of the litter.

Hi there! there's no such chihuahua as teacup, but they should be called as the runt ones. Although a good quality chihuahua would be expensive or very expensive. Well, as for your prior post, such teacup cannot be a show potential one, cause it is outside the standards of the breed.

Di naman lahat ng chihuahuas ay muka ng minipin ngaun, it is just a product of a wrong breeding. Other people just bred them for money, well others maintained the standards or stayed close to it. For me, pet chihuahuas should not be bred at all cause they're just passing their faults to their offspring thus producing ugly descendants through time, which should be very much discourage, thus the practice of spaying has been done in other countries.

As for my experience, 90% of the looks of the puppies would come from their mother, simply meaning that even if you use a handsome or even a champion stud, yet the dam has fault or not pleasing to the eyes of men, then all puppies would be the same as their mother. So if you want to breed chihuahuas, be a responsible one.
