"Happiness is a warm puppy!" --Charles M Schultz

 crrrry

My father-in-laws smooth haired Chi gave birth to four babies, two of them without front legs.  We have received a lot of offers to adopt and care for them but my inlaws have fallen in love with the little darlings.  They are the strongest of the bunch having to compensate by being more assertive and when they are on the teat, the suck milk twice the amount than the 4-legged ones.  Question, how in the world do I train them so they can live as normal a life as possible? Hopping on hind legs? is there someone in the country that creates custom wheels?  Thanks!

That's so sad  Sad
I know there are companies in the US that make dog wheelchairs or dog forelimb/rearlimb prosthetic legs  Grin
And I've heard of a vet assistant locally who had a wheelchair made for her shih tzu that had non-functioning rear legs.
I'm not sure if they have wheelchairs for dogs without front legs  scratch You may need to go with prosthetic limbs (links below).

Thanks!!!! I'll check out the links and now the two are the fattest in the bunch so the will to live is strong.  I was thinking of having them evaluated at BetterDog once they are weaned.  I cried for half a day when I found out.  Broke my heart!

Pernille Harboe of Samson & Mom makes wheelchairs locally, if I'm not mistaken. Contact # 852-5148.

A friend had hers custom-made in the US.
