Summer is already here so be careful always make sure
our dogs always remain hydrated and properly sheltered
Here are some signs that your dog is suffering from heat stroke.

Signs of heat stroke in dogs:

    * Panting

    * Hyperventilation (deep breathing)

    * Salivation early then dry gums as heat prostration sets in

    * Staring

    * Anxious expression

    * Refusal to obey commands

    * Warm, dry skin

    * High fever

    * Rapid heartbeat

    * Vomiting

    * Diarrhea and sometimes bleeding

    * Collapse
    * Dull, greyish-pink, or red gums This Is An Emergency

Even at the earliest stage of heat stroke, you may be fighting for your dog's life.
You must get him to a veterinarian as soon as possible.
These symptoms can be followed in minutes by collapse, seizures, coma and death.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID FOR HEAT STROKE

1) If your dog is showing the first signs of heat exhaustion, rapid breathing, rapid heart rate, the first thing you must do is remove him from the confining area. Nine times out of ten, heat exhaustion occurs while the dog is confined, whether it is in a car, crate, or doghouse.

2) Take the dog to shade, and soak him with cool water. Do NOT use extremely cold or iced water. This will cause blood vessels to constrict and will stop the heat from escaping.

3) You can apply ice packs to the areas underneath his front legs, and to the groin area for rapid blood cooling. Give your dog enough water to wet his mouth and throat, but do NOT allow your dog to drink copious amounts!

4) Take your dog's temperature, this is done anally to get the most accurate reading.

5) Prepare your dog for transport to the nearest emergency animal clinic.

6) Do NOT cover your dog, even with a cold towel. This will prevent the heat from escaping.

7) Do NOT place him back in his crate, but keep him with you, with windows down and air conditioning on high, to allow evaporation which will aid in the cooling process

Cool Yes, there is also a danger that dog can become too cold. Monitor the temperatures and stop the cooling process as soon as your dog's temperature reads normally again.

Continue on the vet's, your dog is not saved yet!

I remember ge and
I meron ka pitbullero before na ilang beses na
namatayan ng pitbull dahil sa kapabayaaan. One time
iniwan ang aso nakatali sa initan without any water
at all. Pag uwi patay na ang aso.

Oo. Tapos ginamit pang propaganda ang aso kasabay ng show for a cause. At alam na natin kung ano ang sumunod. grin1

yun ang di maganda nangyari after dog show for a cause yun for
his own cause Grin

Again, ingat nalang po sa pag alaga ng aso wag
po natin gamitin ang katamaran sa pag alaga ng aso
napakadali lang po magpaligo, mag iwan ng sapat
na inumin ng aso. At wag iwan sa pwestong mainit.

Dogs Prone to Heatstroke

    * Young puppies and older dogs;
    * Overweight dogs;
    * Dogs with an existing illness or recovering from illness or surgery;
    * Dog breeds with short faces - Bulldogs, Shar pei, Boston Terriers, Pugs - have narrow respiratory systems that
       easily get overwhelmed in hot and humid conditions;
    * Double coated breeds such as Chow Chows; and
    * Dogs bred for cold climates such as Malamutes, Huskies and Newfoundlands.
